The Scientific Committee invites all interested authors to submit their nutrition-related abstracts to the 14th European Nutrition Conference.


General criteria

  • Abstracts must be written in the English language – abstracts submitted in other languages will not be accepted.
  • The number of authors is limited to 7 per abstract, including the main author or presenter.
  • A person can be presenting author for a maximum of two abstracts.
  • Once submitted abstracts cannot be updated with new data.
  • An e-mail address is compulsory in order to receive information about the submitted abstract.
  • Authors must complete the disclosure section in the Abstract Submission Form.
  • In submitting the abstract, the author also grants the 14th Europena Nutrition Conference the right to publish abstracts in electronic form.
  • The author/s shall indicate the preferred presentation format (oral or poster) of the submitted abstract. However, the Scientific Committee will decide over the final presentation format.
  • Abstract submission assumes full acceptance of all these criteria. The Scientific Committee reserves the right to reject any abstract, if it is not adapted to any of these criteria.
  • Abstract acceptance or rejection will be notified by e-mail until June 30th 2023.
  • A presenting author must be registered at the Congress by August 25th 2023 for the abstract to be included in the e-Abstract Book.

Abstract format and contents

It is essential to pay attention to correct spelling and punctuation and follow the guidelines regarding format and style. No further format or content corrections will be made by the Scientific Committee or reviewers. Abstracts that fail to meet these criteria will be rejected.

Abstract form:

The submitted abstract should be written in sentence case, not in capital or lower case, not bolded.

The submitted abstract shall contain the following information:

AUTHORS: Full names and surnames of all authors

AFFILIATION: Institutions only and country

TITLE: 30 words maximum

CONTENTS: Background and objectives; Methods; Results; Discussion

Up to 5 keywords

Authors must choose the Thematic areas (Tracks) in which they wish to present their abstract at the time of submission. Text length in the abstract body shall not exceed 350 words (excluding title, authors and affiliations).


Thematic areas (Tracks)

The Tracks at the 14th European Nutrition Conference are:

  • Nutrition across the life course
  • Nutrition, metabolism and chronic diseases
  • Dietary studies, guidelines and recommendations
  • New technologies in nutrition research
  • Personalized nutrition
  • Nutrition and the environment, sustainability and biodiversity
  • Food science
  • Bioactive compounds from the diet
  • Nutrition education, consumers and practitioners
  • Cultural, societal and behavioural aspects of diet and nutrition

Abstracts will be organized in tracks for reviewing and scheduling. The Scientific Committee will try to respect the author's choice of tracks but will have the right to change this if necessary.


Abstract submission

Abstracts shell be submitted via an online submission system.

If you are submitting more than one abstract you must repate the whole process for each abstract.

Abstracts sent by fax, email or post will not be accepted.

Disclosure statements

Disclosure section of the Abstract submission system is obligatory to be filled in for all submitting authors. It consists of these statements:

  • That the results and statements made in abstracts are original
  • Confirmation that all authors have approved the submission
  • That there is no conflict of interest of any of the authors
  • If there exists a conflict of interest it should be clearly stated

Negative answers to the first and last statement will automatically exlude the author for finalizing the abstract submission.
